MO LEGACY SUCCESS
STORIES
“There are not words adequate enough to express what an experience it is to be part of this MO Legacy family. The focus is always God first and the spiritual application of what is happening on the court.”
Carissa, Parent
"MO Legacy has coaches that believe in you and your game and want to see you become the very best you can be. They also care about the person you are and helping you develop into the best person and Christ follower you can be. I am a college basketball player because of the coaches that poured into me.”
Ethan, 2022 Alum
“I started playing for MO Legacy when we moved to the area in 2021, and honestly it was the best decision I could have made. They helped me grow so much, not only as a player, but as a person also! They challenged me to be my best everyday in basketball, life, and in my faith. They preach it all the time, but this is so much more than basketball, it’s a family."
Emma, 2022 Alum/Current Coach
"My experience growing up in the program was inspiring. This program taught me anything is possible if you dedicate yourself to the process and work hard towards your goals with purpose. Along with life lessons and values i still carry today, through believing in Christ and teaching me how to be a respectable young man, the program has set me up for success in my young adult life."
Isaac, 2021 Alum
This program builds you as a person mentally, physically and spiritually. Hard practices challenging yourself from the day before, being disciplined and traveling while still being in the word of God, sometimes even in between games. Seeing myself grow and those around me was a great experience.
Jaada, 2021 Alum
"When I first joined MO Legacy, I expected to grow as a basketball player, but I never imagined how much this program would shape my life. I came for basketball, but I gained so much more—a second family, lessons about life, and, most importantly, growth in my faith. The Bible studies and constant support from my coaches and teammates challenged me to grow not just as an athlete but as a person. The friendships I’ve built are priceless, and the memories will stay with me forever. Most importantly, MO Legacy helped me realize that my worth isn’t in basketball but in being a child of God. With that, I’ll forever be grateful for this program. It has shaped me into a better person who understands that my true value comes from the Lord, not from any game or achievement."
Annette, 2021 Alum
"My experience with MO Legacy has been life-changing. Being a part of this program helped me achieve my athletic goals and they invested in my spiritual walk with the Lord. The coaches are very successful at what they do, providing resources and helping individuals achieve their goals. I’ve learned so much, not only about basketball but also about how it can carry over into life. Being a part of this program encouraged me to use what I’ve learned on the court to share the love of Jesus with others."
“These last three years with Legacy have been so amazing. (My daughter) is a different person because of these people and I could never say thank you enough. Life long relationships were made!”
Valerie, Parent
“For the past 10 years, all three of my children have had the privilege of being part of a basketball program that is so much more than a team—it’s a ministry. This program has consistently modeled what it means to keep Christ at the center of everything, teaching values like perseverance, teamwork, and integrity both on and off the court. Through the ups and downs of the game, my kids have learned life lessons that extend far beyond basketball, growing in their faith and character. I’m deeply grateful for the coaches and families who have made this program a place of encouragement and Christ-centered growth for all of us.”
Darcy, Parent/Coach
"During my experience in the program I have Learned how to stand on my own feet as a man, grow my knowledge of the Lord and seek him daily, play with/ against people who would become life long friends, play for coaches who who care about your growth as a person and as a player, and becoming apart of a family that’s always welcoming me back with open arms. I have been with the program since middle school and truly believe it is one of the best programs in the state to get you ready for college basketball while also teaching core values and growing a relationship with God."
Landon, 2021 Alum
"This program helped shape me into the woman I am today. I discovered a different form of self during my time on the team, and it truly did help me understand the value of being true to yourself and spreading God’s word!"
Sierra, 2021 Alum
"Joining MO Legacy was genuinely one of the best decisions I have ever made. As a teenage girl trying to find God, this team helped me not only find Him, but learn how to worship Him, follow Him, & study His word. Teejay & Britney took us through Bible studies which I have used to teach others as well within my FCA group. They teach you spiritually, as well as mentally. Teejay preaches a positive mindset which I still use daily. The lessons that he teaches can help you in all aspects of life, not just basketball, & I am so grateful for that. He also taught me how to be a better person, a better sister, a better daughter, a better teammate, & a better friend. I have gained lifelong friends from this program who I talk to almost every day. This program is filled with a positive environment & positive people that are truly a blessing to be around. Through this program, I was able to get recruited to play college basketball as well. This program is so well-rounded & helps you out in every aspect of life. I recommend this program to anyone & everyone to grow in basketball & spiritually!"
Jacqueline, 2024 Alum
"MO Legacy taught me that basketball is a big part of life but it is not life. I was surrounded by Godly men and women who pushed me not only in basketball but in my faith and I’m so thankful for the memories I made and lessons I learned in my three years with Legacy."
Grace, 2024 Alum
“I had given up on competitive youth organizations; I had no interest in joining this team. I'm grateful God pushed us to trust this organization and has shown us just how impactful this team will be in (my son’s) life beyond basketball. As a parent, I'll never be able to thank the coaches, players, and parents who invested in my son. The last three years have been amazing, and I will hold the memories close to my heart forever.”
Alissa, Parent
“After years of coaching, I’ve seen firsthand how Legacy means so much more than just basketball. These athletes develop character and foster self confidence. They hone leadership skills and dig deep to find resilience they might not have known they were capable of. They learn the importance of teamwork and find a family and lifelong friends. But most importantly, the kids witness Christ at work in the world through the lives of their coaches and teammates.”
Kyle, Coach
"My time playing for coach Teejay and his assistants were nothing short of impactful and memorable. I learned so much about basketball but even more importantly I made life long friends and memories. Now, being a coach for MO Legacy gives me an opportunity like no other. Being able to teach high level skills while also being able to pour into the lives of the next generation. I love being able to show and tell them what I did good and bad when I was in their shoes so they have a better understanding than what I had."
Marque, 2018 Alum/Current Coach
"My experience with Teejay and this program exceeded all expectations. For the first time, I was surrounded by a group of confident, God-fearing Black men. Trusting my gut has always served me well, and that’s how I ended up with Teejay’s team while looking for a high school AAU basketball squad with college aspirations. I entered wanting to improve my basketball skills, but left as an enhanced player, person, and man of faith. The dedication and confidence of the coaching staff was truly inspiring. I’m deeply thankful for the life lessons learned during my time with them. Thanks to the program and Teejay, I feel I’ll be a better husband and father in the future. I strongly recommend anyone to join Teejay’s team; I even got my brother involved, and it’s was nothing but positive for us both!"
Caleb, 2019 Alum
"'One day, the basketball will stop bouncing.’ As a parent of four athletes, I know the impact athletics can have in our lives. The skills and lessons I learned stuck with me and helped me in many aspects of life. Athletes always remember the one coach that changed their life and brought out the best in them. I wanted the best coaches and teams for my kids. My family became part of the Legacy family about 3 years ago, and I can honestly say that God put my kids lives and basketball future into the hands of THE BEST! Teejay and Britney have built the most solid, successful, faith-based program I could have ever imagined my kids playing for. Legacy has not only changed my kids lives, it helped changed my life too. My kids would not be the athletes and humans they are today if it wasn't for Teejay and Britney Britton. I know when the ball stops bouncing, my kids and I will be better because of Legacy and I will be forever grateful for God bringing us together. We are family! We are Legacy!”
